Hi WordPress and WordPress Support Team,

Thanks for your response over the login issue [1] that I had encountered earlier this week. Due to some login difficulty, I decided to reset my password through email password reset link. Like some Yahoo Mail user, I encountered Yahoo Error Code 17 issue[2][3]. The support team in some ways response to my enquiry and suggestions.

Though I had sent a Thank You note and some suggestion to support team, I would like to encourage online and WordPress community to give some sugguestions over exploring some password reset options.

Here are some suggestions:

1.   Have one or a series of secret questions to allow users to manually reset their password online. This is in addition to existing email password reset link

2.   Allow users to register secondary email address. If the similar situation like the above mentioned happen, users can enter their secondary email address to reset their password.

3.   Use of their primary email address and/or user name to verify their identities should the second suggestion is implemented. This is have another security level of protection for users.

I understand that cost, resources, manpower, security and privacy concerns need to be factor in before any suggestions is adapted in one way or another.

Thanks.

Have a nice day!

Best Regards,
James Ang
