Updated on May 25, 2010.
Currently, many of us are affected by the global subprime mortgage crisis,. The aftermath of this global financial crisis causes many unemployment, retrenchment [1] and industries wide restructuring. For the employed, they are worried about job insecurity, coping with more overtime and others. On the other hand, many are looking for jobs on full time basic.
Honestly speaking, not all will have the energy to care about global warming and climate change. It’s a true fact.
“This global climate change solution needs collective effort from private sectors, public sector and individuals - James Ang, The omniGens Blog – Make Life Simple.“
Let’s imagine this scenario. Base on climate change scientific study, the Himalayan glacier projects to melt completely by 2035. Beside the increase in sea level, the melted Himalayan glacier will flood many commercial agricultural fields or farmland. This worst case scenario will cause massive food crop destruction in countries around Himalayan region like China and India. What are the global warming impact from Arctic sea ice sheet, Antarctica and Greenland glacier fallout?
This global warming aftermath will cause serious disruption to our global food supply chain. We have to know the economical domino effect across various industries. What about the economical spiral effect on other major economic markets?
This major global warming situation will cause serious global food security crisis. People in the Main Street or High Street across the global will be affected by extreme food price hike. Can we cope if the current rising global food price increased by two fold or more? The answer is most of us cannot cope financially.
What are the preventive measure to global warming and preparation for this climate change worst case scenario? We have to find cost effective, simple and effective ways to reduce greenhouse gas emission, carbon footprint and develop next generation green alternative energy cost efficient clean energy source.
In addition, we need to search for cost effective alternative solution to secure our global food security. Thus, we can prevent or reduce our global food security crisis aftermath effect. This global climate change solution needs collective effort from private sectors, public sector and individuals.
One possible option is Urban Vertical Farm’s Start-up Solution . The other urban vertical farming alternative is urban underground farming , develop and highly productive advanced farming technologies to ensure some form of global food security.
