omniGens’s Objective

This omniGens blog’s objective is to create a multicultural, multigenerational, multi learning and multi-perspective blog platform to interact, share, learn and support among all age groups.

1.    Multicultural and transcultural blog platform :

The whole global economy has become more globalised, open, integrated, and multicultural.

The intention of this blog is created a place for both English and non-English (like Asian) speaking communities to better understand their peers’ cultural working environment, way of working, preferences, communications, mindset, etc. This is useful whether you are working within native English or non English communities or both.

2.    Multigenerational and Peer support blog platform :

To develop into a professional social blog and network for people of different age groups [1]  [2] (like G.I. Generation, Silent Generation, Generation Baby Boomers, Generation Jones, Generation X, Generation Y and Generation Z) to share their knowledge, resources and networks in improving and simplifying our lives.

In short, this blog is intended to be a place for us to develop better understanding across different age groups.

3.    Multi- learning  or Peer learning blog platform :

The learning intention is to create awareness of our differences, perceptive, preference, mindsets, bias and prejudices[3]. Such as sharing objective, educational and scientific backed information in the form of online (News) video, article, research, wiki, professional support groups and network.

In order to make it simple and organized for all users, please use the following template if you post a hyperlink.

Please ensure that the hyperlink is not a source of malware, virus, spyware, adware or has any security threat/issue. For example, you can use McAfee SiteAdvisor (http://www.siteadvisor.com/) among other reputable online security solution providers to verify.

4.    Multi-perspective blog platform :

In any global multicultural and multigenerational workforce and communities can have many different views, preference, skill sets and multi disciplinary expertise.

The omniGens blog caters specifically to this diversity. James Ang, The omniGens blogger understand that even within the same family and age group that is bond to have differences on any particular issues.

With a change of perception, an individual will see the same issue differently. This fundamental shift in thinking is mentioned as paradigm shifts in Stephen R Covey’s book titled The 7 habits of highly effective people.

This platform is a place to help us to improve understanding on ourselves and those around us. Thus, this will achieve win-win situations for all. Furthermore, it helps to prevent and reduce miscommunication, misunderstanding, bias and prejudices.

Only then, we will be moving on the right path towards success and real inner happiness [4]   [5].
